Christmas Time = School Performances!

Happy Christmas from the Lawson's!
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings we attended different performances at our girls' school.
Tuesday night all 3 girls danced.
Wednesday Haley had a band concert and Lindsay sang with her kindergarten class.
Thursday night Nat was in a musical theater performance.
Here you go:

Lindsay was a doll for her dance number!
It began by the daddies bringing out the "Dolls" onto the stage.
Look how droopy and doll-like Linds is!
Then another daddy had a big key and "wound up" all the dolls!

Getting ready to be a doll.

This dance was so cute, Linds did a fantastic job. She kept her arms stiff and she really looked like a little doll! A few times she looked like she was doing the Robot!

Next up:

Haley!
Doing a really cool number... very modern!
(I made this skirt. All the girls in this dance came up with their own costumes, Haley and I designed this one)

These girls did such a great job!

Smile!
This kid loves to dance, she's been doing it nonstop since she was 4.

Next up:
Natalie is taking Polynesian Dance. She loves it and loves her teacher (who is in our ward and is our neighbor!)
She is so good. She is great on the poi's.
(hey, I made this skirt, too!)

Very graceful and smooth!

I should have made her skirt fuller!
Next time..
Great job, Nat!

My YW.
I was released as YW's president this past Sunday.
I am not very happy about it! I love these girls so much.
I will miss them dearly and loved having 2 full years as their leader!
These girls rock! Seriously, they are such a tight group of girls, all friends and all very sweet to one another.
I'll miss working with my amazing presidency, too.
:(

Wed. Night:
Lindsay and her pals getting ready to go on stage for their first song.
Look at the cute twins on either side! These 3 totally love each other!

"Silent Night" using Sign Language.
It was very sweet.

Doing such a good job!

Next up:

The flute master!

These guys were pretty good!
I love band concerts!

Did everyone see the moon last Friday?
It was the closest to the Earth in many years and it won't be this close again for another 20 or so years!
It was crazy bright!!!

Thurs. Night
Warning, my camera sucks:
Nat, the little one with a red sweater, white shirt!
This was a musical theater performance and it was awesome!
It was called:
"The X-Mas Files"

Nat sang and danced and did great!
*phew*
That's it!
We had a fun week of Lawson girls performances.
I love our school and all the fun things they have the kids doing!

Merry Christmas!
(Dec. 1 after we got our tree and decorated it!)

Did you know that I have a big sister.....

...... and that she's a grandma?!

This beautiful picture is of my sister Laura and her husband Kari at Kari's son, Eric's, wedding!
Also included are Wendy, Eric's bride, and his brother Greg. My sister's children are Alex, Graciela and Giuli.
Now, a few years after this wedding came a wonderful surprise!
Weston!
That is how my big sister became a grandma! Even though she doesn't look a day over 30! :)
Baby Weston has brought so much joy to this family!

Here is Grandpa Kari holding his first grand baby.

Fun stuff, huh?
Now you know about my big sister Laura!
She is also known as the "Horsie Auntie" since she has 5 acres in CA with several horses. She boards them and has many of her own, even cute, miniature horses. Natalie, of course, loves going out to her property to ride! (Dulce is her favorite)

Thanksgiving fun in beautiful Colorado!

4 1/2 years ago we met the coolest family up in Yellowstone. We all love reliving the story:
Lawson's pull into their camping spot at Yellowstone, we all start climbing out of truck.
A woman standing nearby asks: "Uh, excuse me. Do you have 4 girls?"
Lawson's "Why yes we do!"
Woman "So do WE!"
and BOOM, instant friendship.
It just so happens that this family from Fort Collins, CO has 4 girls the same ages as our girls! The entire week at Yellowstone we did as much as we could together and have been dear friends ever since. We traveled to their house for a fun visit in '05, Chloe was invited to go with them to their Dude Ranch in '06, so she flew to CO and had a blast with this family, they came here for Thanksgiving in '06, and then we went to their home for Thanksgiving this year.
We had a very fun time with them this past week. What a great Thanksgiving!
Here is how our girls match up:

The oldest:
Chloe (16) and Alex (almost 15)
The # 2 girls:
Alyssa (almost 13) and Haley (12)

The mischief # 3 girls:
Natalie (9) and Ava (9) these girls are days apart in age.
We never saw these two... they were tucked away in Ava's room and played nonstop.

The Babies:
Andrea (7) and Lindsay (6)
This is all they ate for Thanksgiving, yummy rolls.

Thanksgiving Dinner:
Bring it on! We're starved!

The daddies hard at work. Boy, were these guys so totally outnumbered, or what?!
10 girls to 2 boys.

The gang.

I love this one. Look how they are eyeing that turkey!

Yummy roll with cup of milk!

Even the pups got a Thanksgiving feast!
Lucy on the left and Daisy on the right.
They ate yummy turkey, yams and green bean casserole!
(but they paid for it later on... think about it! ewwww)
;)

Some hangin' out pics:
Lindsay loved Lucy. These two hung out a lot.

Alex and crazy Lindsay!
(nice face, linds)

Our "8 girl" traditional pictures:
At the end of each visit, we always line up the girls by age and take a whole bunch of pictures.
Alyssa had left earlier to go shopping with a friend in Denver, so she isn't pictured with the girls, which is such a huge bummer!
But here are 7 of the 8 girls.

Here we lined them up by height. Luckily Alyssa has a bathroom stool with her name on it! She is a beautiful tall girl, so she would have been first in line! We missed you, Alyssa!
All the girls:
Alyssa (her stool anyway), Chloe, Alex, Haley, Ava, Andrea, Nat and Lindsay!
We had a really great time with this family! We miss them already.
:)

Our drive home:

On our way home we stopped to eat at Applebee's in Rock Springs, WY.
A fun way to end our fun trip!!!
:)

Coldplay~

This was the greatest show ever.
Gene and I had amazing seats, floor, 18th row, center. (my friends are sick of me bragging about my amazing seats, sorry guys!)
These guys put on the best show, it was incredible and wonderful!
Coldplay, oh how I love them!!

Utes v. Cougars

The girls got to dress up in either U of U Red, or BYU Blue on Friday in anticipation of Saturday's big game between the 2 schools.
As you can see, Nat love the Utes. Her teacher is a Utes fan (and also a student there) and so therefore, Nat is also.
Utah pretty much destroyed BYU, with those 3 interceptions and all...
Oh well! Nat was happy!
It was an exciting time here in Utah!

Happy 12th birthday, Haley

Finally, a new post. I'm telling ya, Facebook has taken over my computer time. :)
Haley had a lovely 12th b-day party on her actual birthday! That is such a huge deal to kids, getting to have your party on your actual birthday! You know it was for you, too! ;)
Haley had a whole bunch of pals come over, we went and had pizza, then back home for presents, cake and ice cream, then the girls hung out downstairs until 11 pm or so, then I brought them home.
It was a fun evening. Haley loves being 12. She started YW's last Sunday and gets to participate in tonight's YW in Excellence. She did have to be in the primary sacrament program, since it was 6 days before her 12th b-day. She accompanied on the piano for a few girls who sang a very lovely song. We had fun teasing her that the program was after her b-day and not before! But she didn't mind.
It's fun having 2 girls in YW's with me. Chloe realized that 50% of our family is in YW's right now. Fun stuff.
Here are a few pics documenting Haley's fun day:

This has nothing to do with Haley's b-day. But Nat totally dressed this kitty up in doll clothes and was forcing a bottle in his mouth. poor kitty.
Everyone has arrived...

Hanging out

At the pizza joint.
How come there are no "Pizza Parlors" anymore!? I remember going to Straw Hat Pizza as a kid and playing video games and such in between eating pizza. There are no Roundtable Pizzas here, which is truly a CRIME. We settled for "Two Jacks" in Spanish Fork. Nothing to do there but eat, but they did have "Deal or No Deal" on the TV and that made for a very entertaining night!

Having fun

Cute girls

Presents!!

I love this, I caught her thinking about what she was going to wish for when she blew out the candles!
Happy Birthday, Haley!

Chloe's Birthday Party

Chloe had her birthday party last night.
It was fun.
There were around 17 kids for Barbie cake and ice cream and then they headed off for an evening of Laser Tag!
Gene said the kids all had a blast!
Chloe wanted a Barbie cake this year, so she got a Barbie Cake:

Time to cut poor Barbie:

Happy Birthday, Chloe!
