Asleep

"Sunday Afternoon Nap"

Oh how Gene loves it when I take pics of him and blog 'em!
:)
I was checking out who visits my blog and there have been several people who have found me by googling things such as how to ask her to homecoming or how to answer for a dance, or whatever. How funny. I wonder if anyone will use Phillip's cool toilet idea?
Chloe asked a boy to the Halloween dance in Oct. last night. We got balloons, shaving cream and little strips of paper with stuff written on them. In each balloon we would blow it up some, then put the paper inside (most said random things, one said "I will be a MESS if you don't go to the dance with me!" and one had her name)then add a whole bunch of shaving cream, then we would tie it up. With the help of this kid's mom, Chloe and I totally sneaked into their house through their walkout basement and put these balloons all over his bed. (The bed wasn't made, I guess Chloe isn't the only teen who doesn't make her bed! har har) Then she placed the balloon with her name in it in his car that he's always working on.
Well, he called her last night letting her know that his 2 little sisters had a blast playing in all the shaving cream. I guess some of the balloons really exploded the shaving cream when popped, others didn't do much! soooo funny!
He said it took him a little while to get all the shaving cream off his back lawn!
Oh... funny stuff...

Check.

Presents.

Check.

Decorations.

Check. Ok. You are ready to roll!

Bring in the VERY surprised 6 year old girl:
Check!

Her reaction?
"WHAT THE HECK??"
And then all of her buddies ran to her and gave her high-fives and hugs.

Oh, we got her sooooo good!!!

Alright, now let me explain. Last year after her 5th b-day party, she told me that for her next birthday she really wanted a surprise party. I kinda laughed and told her sure.
Well, as we got closer to her 6th b-day, that surprise party idea started sounding better and better, so I ran with it.
She had no idea we were planning this party. The theme of the party was surprise (of course!).
The cupcakes were "Oreo Cookie Surprise Cupcakes", the party favors were little firecracker-looking things with fun treats inside (toilet paper rolls with party bag full of treasures stuffed inside, then wrapped up) we had a treasure hunt and each clue was in a balloon which the kids popped and out came the surprise clue! The final clue led them to the Pinata!
It was such a fun party. The kids loved hiding and waiting for Lindsay, they were so dang cute about it!

More pics:

"Freeze Dance"

Boogie down, Lindsay!

"Hot Potato"

I should have posted this pic later on, but this is when that final clue led them to the Pinata!

Reading a clue!!!!

Another clue!
Oh, they sooo loved this. They were totally into it. It was awesome.

Happy Birthday to you, Lindsay-Lu!
(Handy tip with the ice cream. Scoop it out into cupcake liners and place on cookie sheet and keep in freezer until ready to serve. Then, when it's time to serve cupcakes and ice cream, there is no need to scoop out ice cream for every guest, it is already to hand out along with the cupcakes... or cake. Therefore, everyone is served at the same time!)

Presents are the BEST!

Smacking the super cool authentic Mexican Pinata! This sucker took a beating!

The goods inside included:
Plastic frogs, plastic bugs and plastic lizards, along with tasty candy.
The party favors all included a little, plastic snake. Hey, this is Lindsay's party, right?
We had to include Lindsay-type treats and toys!

I am totally 6 years old!
Well, Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2:01 pm she will be!

These are the family presents sitting on our bookshelf right now. She will open these tomorrow on her actual birthday.
The book next to the presents is "Now we are Six". This was a book my mom had as a child, and she gave this book to Chloe when she turned 6!
I can't believe this is my last 6 year old!
I seriously don't know how that happened!?
Anyhow, what a wonderful day. It was a perfect party for our little 6 yr. old and everyone had a fantastic time!
Happy Birthday Linds.

Anyhow, Lindsay's surprise 6th birthday party is tomorrow at 3 pm, so I'll be posting about that soon!

How did my baby get to be 6?? Was it while I was on Facebook?

HOMECOMING 2008~

Well, here you go! Homecoming pictures of my beloved daughter and her cute date, Phil!
Both kids were pretty nervous!
Chloe had her hair done this afternoon and did her nails and pretty much took the entire day to get herself ready.
She was so super excited!
Here are some pics:

Pretending to put Phil's flower on....

It matched her dress perfectly!

Here's the scoop on her awesome dress. Last weekend Chloe, Haley and I took off to the Orem mall to find a dress. Gene didn't have much hope for us since we are all picky shoppers. But we found this beautiful dress in a very lovely bridal shop! Within 10 minutes Chlo-lo found this dress. The cost? $80. Not too bad, I was thinking as we walked up to the sales counter.
The total?
$31.67!
It was so totally on sale! Woo Hoo!
Then we had fun finding jewelry and shoes to match!
So there, Gene! We CAN find stuff! (sometimes)

Phil had a cast on his arm until yesterday, you know, until he sawed it off himself.
Guess he didn't want a cast on his arm for homecoming.
:)

Here in Payson, the girls give the guys a crayon that matches their dress so they can go and get a matching tie. I think Phil did a great job.
They look so cute together.

bye guys.

Chloe and Debryn, best pals and tennis buddies.
Cool side-bangs forever!

Getting ready to leave...
What's Gene doing in the background, you ask?
Oh, he's just putting on Debryn's date's flower (can't think of how to spell the real word)
Gene put on Phil's, too! the girls were laughing that they couldn't do it, but the dad could!

The group.
The guy on the far left is taking Justine, the homecoming queen, to the dance. She'll be picked up next.
These guys are going to Macaroni Grill for dinner (they already got a reservation) then off to the dance, then to watch a movie.
Phil asked us what time he needed to have Chloe home tonight! What a kid!
I told him 9:30 pm and he about died...
Gene told him midnight! wow!

Sweet Ride!
bye kids!
Have fun......

Lindsay's field trip & Kitty-cuteness

Lindsay had her first kindergarten field trip of the year on Friday. We went to the Grotto, just 7 miles up into the Payson Canyon. (15 minutes from the school) It was a lovely little 1/4 mile hike to a really pretty waterfall.
It was a fun day:

"Team Lawson"
That's my niece, Aubrey. She and Linds are in the same kindergarten class.

Naughty Kitten

Update~

Chloe answered Phillip by TP-ing the HECK out of his car. His brother had the key and opened it for Chloe and her friends and they went to town using over 25 rolls of TP on the inside, outside and under the hood. She wrote: "It would be CRAPPY going to the dance without you! Yes, I'll go!"

Lovely toilet humor!

I wish I had a picture, but the only one she got was on her cell phone.

Thanks for all the fun suggestions! Chloe appreciates your support. :)

Look who got asked to HOMECOMING!!!!!

Tonight while Chloe and I were at YW's, this very cute football player and 5 other kids came over to do this to Chloe's toilet!
She about died when she saw this! Luckily, Gene (super dad) went down and cleaned up her room and bathroom a bit before the kids came over.... but still! How embarrassing!
She walked into her bathroom and saw this:

How clever! How gross!

She was so excited and was totally blushing!

She had to rip it apart to officially see who did the asking.
She had been told by friends and the kid's brother that he would be asking her.
So, she knew this was coming!

Sticky stuff...

Phillip! OH YOU!!!
Just a funny side note... after the kids did this, Gene totally had this Phillip guy sit down and Gene interviewed him! This is Chloe's first official date and Gene wanted to make sure this kid had manners and was a good kid.
Phillip passed the test!

Okay.... this is where YOU ALL come in.
Chloe needs help answering Phillip!
The dance is Sept. 13, so she needs to do it this week. So, come on ladies! I know many of you went to church schools and were asked to dances in crazy ways! How did you answer????
Chloe would really appreciate your input!
Thanks!

Our Fun Weekend/Happy One Year to my Blog!

It's Payson Onion Days once again. Our family was super involved all weekend long. Friday night we enjoyed the carnival and the $1 rides, Saturday we all participated in the Children's Talent Show, Monday I ran the 5K with pals Jana and Carrie. Later that morning we attended the parade and got soaked when the heavens opened and rain, hail and wind blasted us, then we ended our day by attending Payson Community Theater's "Beauty and the Beast".

We spend so much time together as a family, it was great.

Here are some pictures from the talent show... please keep in mind, there were TONS of people in attendance here....

Ok, ok, let me explain! This year the talent show did "America's Got Talent" and had 3 judges. The gal in charge of this thing, Leah, just so happens to be my neighbor (lucky me) and asked if I could be one of the dumb talents that gets X'd off!! Well, I dragged Chloe into it and we came up with this lovely act. She was "Sheresa" and I was "Shanene" and we were sistas! Chloe lip synced to a lovely Tiny Tim song! (it really was hilarious guys, seriously!) We got X'd within 25 seconds of the song... and the judges got Booed!

We were totally into it, man! We were jammin'!
This is the song we were groovin' to:

Tiny Tim; Living In the Sunlight Loving In the Moonlight
try to find it and listen to it sometime, it's so worth it! :)

Why Sponge Bob, you ask? Well, this Tiny Tim song happened to be on a Sponge Bob episode, so we went to Wal Mart the night before and Chloe found these lovely PJ's. Mine is a kid's size 14/16, it's a NIGHTGOWN! I obviously just wore it as a shirt. Lovely, I know. I gave it to Nat and now she wears it as a big nightie!

Yes, we were pretty awesome.

Oh this!? Well, I just wanted to show you that only in Utah could a ward advertise its Enrichment night at the town carnival downtown in the park! I'm not knocking it, I just thought it was funny.

Maybe 7th ward was just having a party there, I dunno. Pretty cool.

This one is for you Lori Gresko-Thompson! Look who we hung out with at the talent show!

Lindsay and Gene did a cute act. Lindsay so loves to perform, she is not shy at all.

She is so different from the other girls.... she loves getting up in front of crowds.

Ok, Chloe is like that, too! 2 are shy, 2 love the crowd! :)

Lindsay strums the guitar as Gene plays the chords, and together they sing,

"Puff the Magic Dragon"

It's adorable.

Later on Haley played the piano, of course. This kid is amazing guys!

She is very shy and is just fine playing the piano, (for Sacrament, to accompany signers) but usually she has her back to the crowd!

Not this time, everyone was looking at her and she did a great job.

She played Five for Fighting's "100 Years".

You can see some of the crowd listening to her play!

I swear, one of these days you will find my daughter playing in some lounge or for Nordstrom's!
(joking!)
She plays in a very "loungy" way... does that make sense?

Here she is answering the judges questions! She did so good.
Gene took some pictures of our other adventures with his blackberry and I'll post those another time!
:)
