My daughter is an amazing Swing Dancer and last day of 4th grade!

My girls' charter school put on the most amazing event the other night. It was held at this old school in town that was built in 1901 and is now a community center that houses Payson's history, so it was the perfect setting. They put on a type of living history museum and re-created the 1930's complete with movie stars, gangsters cops, soup kitchens, boxing matches, depression era shanty towns and sooo much more. The entire building was used for this and it was incredible!
Haley was Jeanette MacDonald, a 1930's singer and actress! She looked gorgeous and even had her hair done at the local beauty college (it took 2 hours, this girl has a ton of hair) Haley and others (Shirley Temple, Vivian Leigh, Ginger Rogers and a few others) were in a room they decorated as a 1930's dressing room complete with old time radios, curlers, make up and fancy chairs and such.
The best part was the swing dancing!
At two different times the swing dancers gathered and put on a fantastic show. There was a jazz band there (not students) and as they played the kids did their thing! WOW! Wish I had video of it.
The entire evening was a blast... down to the 5 cent drinks, 10 cent popcorn, to the cops running all around pursuing those gangstas, to everyone walking around in full costume! amazing!
Here are a few pictures from the event:

Haley/Jeanette with our 2 neighbor gals.
The Hollywood room, where the girls' dressing room was.

Haley and her friend Callan made this! So cool, huh?

Haley and her dance partner, Zach.

And there the go! Her dance teacher is behind in the black shirt and tan pants, she danced at BYU (I think!) She is an amazing swing/ball room teacher!

This kid could totally flip Haley all around.. I'm tellin' ya, my girl can dance!

woo hoo!

Taking a break.
See that newspaper on the table? Those were made by a newspaper place to advertise this event. The kids put it together, and the newspaper printed it. It looked like an old 1930's newspaper and it had a ton of articles about the movie stars, the boxers, different events taking place that the kids were going to re-enact that night! Fabulous! I kept the paper, it was so interesting.

Nat's last day of 4th grade:

The three-some, Nat, Lindeon and Maddie.

Outside for the little graduation ceremony, awards and refreshments! (provided by the amazing room moms, of course!)

Super room moms! Nancy and I got our own awards for
"Best Moms"
oh yeah!

Nat getting her award for "Best Pinkie"
It was a little joke between her and her teacher, Nat always grabbed his pinkie and wouldn't let go... huh? I dunno, it just made them all laugh!

Awesome Mr. Bradley! Nat had such a fun year!

About 10 minutes before school officially ended, a party broke out on the elementary side of the school! A fun dance party to end our terrific year!

Linds the graduate:

Our little gal graduated last Friday with this happy little skunk painted upon her cheek:

Wonderful teacher, Ms. Phillips.

I had such a fun time being Ms. Phillips' room mom this year.

After school, most of the class headed to our backyard for a kindergarten graduation party:

Everyone had a great time! Linds had a super kindergarten year and I can't believe it's over already! This year really flew by.
Next year: 1st grade! wow!

First lost tooth, Hogle Zoo and a few other happenings.

Lindsay lost her first tooth this week. For days and days she kept saying, "I just can't believe I lost my tooth! I just can't believe it!"
The other tooth is kinda loose, too! So now she always says: "Uh-oh, Here we go AGAIN!"

Utah's Hogle Zoo!
Lindsay's kindergarten class went here for their end of school field trip. Gene, Nat and I all brought her and we hung out with Lindsay's two buddies and their moms and sister. So we all had a super fun day. The weather was perfect, it wasn't too crowded, and everyone got along! It was the perfect zoo day.

We saw this gorgeous Tiger as we walked into the zoo. He was beautiful.

During the bird show. It was fantastic. I want to work at a bird sanctuary someday! (or be a forest ranger! or BOTH!! when I grow up...)

good ol' Gene!

The bird would take the dollar and deposit it into the money box! cool!

Lindsay and her two favorite boys: Aidan and Beau!

yummy kettle corn and zebras!

We got home from the zoo at 4pm. Then we rushed over to our primary activity from 4-5:30, then we had a ward Cinco de Mayo party at 6! (I was sooo tired)

Ward Dinner:

They had this Mexican Dance group come in and perform! They were wonderful. It reminded me of when I would go and watch my sister Laura dance! Laura wore these beautiful skirts and such and did this kind of Mexican dancing. I was pretty young, but I do remember!

Mas dancing.

Payson Stakes 5K:
All the stakes in Payson (what... 12 or so?!) put together a really fun 1m/ 5K run this morning.
Lori, Adrianne and I went together and had fun. It was out in West Mountain and it was a gorgeous morning out in the country!

We ran the 5K and did amazingly awesome.
That's it for now!!

Nannanie's 10th Birthday:

About 7 years ago, our favorite conversation with Baby Nat was:
"Natalie, you're a goofball!"
and she'd say:
"I not a goofball, I Nannanie!"
Now this sweet little gal is 10 years old!
To celebrate this occasion we brought Nat and her pals to our local ice skating rink!
Everyone had a blast!
(It reminded me of the days I had my b-day parties at Roller King in Livermore!)

A few of her buddies.

Gene, Linds and Hales.

Action Nat!
This kid is sooo good on the ice. She loves the speed...

Oldest and youngest sharing some sisterly love.

The happy birthday table.

The gang (and Linds doing " Vogue")

".... happy birthday to YOUUUUUU!"

After ice skating we went home for presents and more fun!

This is the next day...
her official birthday.
At 9:11 pm she turned 10 years old.

She was excited to open up the gift from us! New roller blades!
What... I don't have to use dad's size 10 blades anymore!?
She wears these things constantly, outside, inside, everywhere!

Blowing out candles again...on the leftover cake! :)
happy birthday, sweetie, we love you so much!
