I have been thinking about this post for a while now. I knew this day had to come.
Well, it's here.
My last child has started kindergarten.
Little Lindsay Lu-Lu has left my side to enter the world of school! I am so excited for her, she has been talking about starting school since last spring. She just couldn't wait to go!
So I'm thrilled for her, but for me? Let's just say my heart is very heavy, I have shed many tears and I don't quite know what to do with myself now that I am all alone (except for the crazy kitten running all around)and have no one here at home with me. I've had a baby or toddler or child by my side for the past almost 16 years and now there's no one!
*SIGH*
I'll be ok. I just miss her.
Here are a few pictures documenting her special day:

It's Ok Mom. You can do this! And you'll find that you actually do enjoy the peace and quiet. I love my days, but I get really excited at 3:00 when it's time for my boys to come home.
Okay so I haven't had to send a kid to school, just preschool, but Aaron and I were talking about it, I can't wait until all my kids are in school. It might be different in 8 years when I have to send my baby off to school.
What are you going to do with yourself?
Oh Debbie! I teared up, too! I dread that day myself. How fun for Lindsay. She looks adorable and like such a Kindergartener! Now you have some much deserved "you" time that you have been saving up for for the last 16 years. Congrats to Lindsay!
Hey Deb-
Just reading your post made me sad. Not for myself - even though Levi started Pre-K today I am surprised that I am OK with it. But it made me sad for the future when I will be sending off my baby, and also sad for you because I know how hard this was for you, and I am not there so we can both be sad together...
:( Laura
THATS MY BABY SISTER!!! o my, i was so sad all day knowing that she was in school. plus i told like...everyone who would listen about her. whether i knew them or not! haha, but she had TONS of fun.....so its all good!
Wow! What a big day for you! Congratulations! When you're sitting there in your armchair reading your favorite novel, while all your kids are at school, you can picture me and all the other young mothers you know wrestling with their young children to clean up their messes wishing we could be in your shoes right now, and think of how great you really have it! :)
WOW! I cried looking about Max being in school all day. I don't even want to imagine Millie. Crazy. Call me if you need a baby to hold. Millie and I are both available.
I always cry on the first day of Kindergarten but when I dropped off my older kids this year (Ist and 3rd grade) I had a big smile on my face.
lol
I will be sobbing when my last kid goes. I can imagine how hard this must be.
I do look forward to catching up on all my projects I have put off until they are all in school though. But it will be so quiet and lonely. :( I'll have to get a puppy.
