Lilypie First Birthday tickers

I remember taking this kid to her 1st day of K:

I have several friends whose oldest child is beginning kindergarten this year.
Their children are so excited, and the mommies are, too!
It is such a magical time when our kids enter the world of school.
I cried with all 4 of my girls as I left them with their new teacher and class.
Fast forward 12 years:
My oldest daughter is now a SENIOR in high school and this was her first day of her last year of school.
I mean, come on! I remember it like yesterday taking Chloe to Mrs. Gazzaniga's kindergarten class at Loomis Elementary.... she wore a fancy dress and her black "church" shoes that came home dusty from playing in the playground at recess. I remember Chloe was very nervous and shy and when she first stepped foot in that playground she expected the entire class to come running over to invite her to play! Life lesson #42, get out there and mingle, Chloe! Don't expect the world to come to you... you gotta get out there and jump right into the action and be assertive!
Well, she is no longer shy, nor does she wait for the world to come to her. She is crazy and fun and super outgoing and loud and beautiful and tall and old and is leaving me!
Senior year: last year of tennis, proms, DECA, lockers, homeroom, best pals and seminary.
College applications this fall... planning, looking ahead, budgeting... and wondering how the heck we got to this part of our lives so darn soon.
It was only moments ago that I was 25 years old and dropping off my first born for her first day of kindergarten.
All I did was *blink*
and now this very child is embarking upon her last year of high school.
Caution to you moms whose babies are beginning Kindergarten this year:
DON'T BLINK.

See ya.... thanks for the memories!

You are such a good Mom! I can tell you and your husband have done such a good job raising your girls! I really like your message about not waiting for the world to come to you, but to go out and get it! Love that!

I know! I can't believe my baby sister is married and my baby brother will be sixteen! I remember taking him to and from Kindergarten (because I had graduated H.S.). Crazy!
