2009 Lawson Christmas Letter:

Merry Christmas
2009!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season! We will be mailing out birth announcements in February, so we decided to go ahead and e-mail our family Christmas letter and photo again this year.
Here is what the Lawson’s have been up to in their own words:
Gene: Still at PGP. Traveled to Reston, Virginia for a week and got to spend a few hours on the Mall in DC. I visited the DC temple as well. It is one of the most amazing temples ever. I have spent a lot of time in California for work and such. Annual trip to Europe included Paris this time. In 1.5 days I saw the Louvre, Notre Dame, The Eifel Tower, The Arch de Triumph, the Pantheon and more. It was a packed weekend. I saw Wicked again while in London which was fun.
My Mother passed away this year and I gave the eulogy. It was therapeutic to go through her life and list out her accomplishments. She was the greatest lady I ever knew.
My knees are finally getting back to normal. I play Volleyball when I can and even played on a league this year.
I am the assistant clerk over finances in my ward. It was really easy until tithing settlement started. There’s nothing like working another four hours after church. I told them I could only count to 6 but they said that was alright as long as I could do it a lot of times
Deb: This has been a year of ups and downs, that’s for sure. Two very significant events happened that will forever be in our hearts, the first being our baby boy that is due to join our family February 21 (my b-day). The second was the loss of Grandma Joann Lawson on October 7. When we told Grandma we were expecting, she looked right at me and whispered- “You’re going to get your boy!” Sure enough, we found out in Oct. that the baby was a little boy and we couldn’t have been happier. Having Grandma know the baby was a boy and that his name was going to be Marc Aaron Lawson shortly before she passed gave us great comfort. Marc was the name of her little baby that passed away at birth.
This has been a very fun pregnancy. The girls are over the moon excited about the arrival of their brother and pretty much all conversation in this house revolve around the baby.
I worked at my girls’ charter school since January as the lunch supervisor and enjoyed that immensely. I loved being able to see my girls everyday and to make some mommy-money. I quit at the end of October so I could come back home and get ready for the arrival of Marc (and my poor back just couldn’t take it anymore!). In church, I taught the 4 year olds (Sunbeams) all year and had a blast. I love that age!!
I am getting myself ready for a very emotional year as I welcome a new baby and have a graduating senior all within 3 months. I am very proud of Chloe as she prepares herself for college and for her nursing career. Words cannot express how much I’ll miss her when she leaves home… but at the same time I am very excited for her as she enters this new chapter in her life! *sigh* Being a mom can be very emotionally draining!
Chloe: This year has been crazy! I'm in the middle of my senior year, which I am loving. My friends and I have been having lots of fun and making the most of our last year. The only downside would be AP calculus. I got a car in May and have loved having it. In November I went on a trip with a group from my school to Washington DC and it was super fun. In June I got a job and have had an interesting time dealing with psycho customers and more pizzas than I can handle. I had a fun last tennis season; me and my doubles partner placed third in region which we're pretty proud of. I'm really excited for the arrival of my little brother! However, I'll only be living with him a few months before I head off to Utah State University. I was lucky enough to get an academic scholarship and will be starting there next fall getting my pre-nursing degree. So this year has been awesome! I hope you all have an awesome Christmas Season and that everyone is doing well.
Haley: I am 13 years old and in 8th grade. School is good, I guess. I love all my crazy friends and I still play the piano. I go to Liberty Academy and my favorite subject is Language Arts. I am super excited for Baby Marc to come!
Natalie: Hi. My name is Natalie. I am 10 and in the 5th grade. I like to ride horses and I am having fun at school. I have lots of friends and enjoy my Polynesian dance class. I like to read and write and I am really excited for my new baby brother to be born. I will be the middle child and I think that’s cool.
Lindsay: I am 7 years old and in the 1st grade. I lost my third tooth yesterday! I pulled it out myself because I don’t trust anyone else to do it. My favorite thing to do is play with my friends and family and pets. I love to color and play with my pretend bugs. I love my teacher, Mrs. Frampton, and I play the piano. I am looking forward to being a big sister- finally!
We hope everyone had a wonderful 2009!
Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year!
Love,
The Lawson Family
You have been blessed this year. 2010 is sure to be a fun filled year for the Lawson group. Have a Merry Christmas and I hope I will be able to see you when you're out here. Time sure does pass quickly. I was shocked to read that Lindsay is 7. :)
