San Francisco get away!

Duh, I should have posted my Easter post AFTER this one since it happened today and this next post happened LAST weekend! Oh well...
Gene works for a cool company called PGP and their HQ's are in Menlo Park, CA. (South Bay Area) He goes there a lot and wanted to take me along on one of his work trips. So last weekend I flew out to San Francisco to meet up with Gene-o!
It was super fun.
On Saturday I drove out to Livermore (Gene had to work) and met up with my dear friend Dena and had a fun visit with her. (no pics) Then I went over and had a short little visit with my high school pal, Mark. (no pics) Then, I met up with my mom and brother and we went to see our old house on Bethal Pl. (no pics!) Everything looked great, I love going back there to see the old 'hood!
Then the 3 of us went to yummy Thai food in old town Livermore! Hey! I do have a shot of that!
My brother had to leave so my mother and I had fun time hanging out, walking around downtown, and getting treats at Foster's Freeze! I drove back to Menlo Park that night.
This is the view from our hotel window:
We stayed at The Four Seasons. Super Fab!
The next day we drove into San Francisco and spent the entire day there!
First we had to eat, so we went to Golden Gate Park and ate at a delish cafe' at the de Young art museum!
It was soooooooo good!

Then we walked around Golden Gate Park:

Statues everywhere! It's like Hyde Park!

So Cool!

Here we came upon a pond with turtles sunning themselves. Adorable!
We had PERFECT weather! Upper 60's, low 70's. Usually S.F. is windy, overcast, and cool.
We were so lucky and had such a fun day!

One of many beautiful trails through the park!
It was sooo fun being back here. I used to go here a lot as a kid, but it had been several years.
It's so beautiful here!

Our rental car. What did we listen to? 105.3 FM, LIVE 105, of course!
(My brother Aaron works here, he is the music director and DJ at this station, the very station we listened to as youth! It was our alternative music station and my brother has worked there over 10 years! How cool is that?!)

The ocean!
After the park we headed WEST! Only 15 minutes or so away we got to a beach.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the ocean!

We spent about 1/2 hour here, it was most delightful.
My soul felt renewed and refreshed!

We saw these gorgeous horses on the beach.... they were huge!

Then we headed over to this super cool million dollar open house!
We were just leaving the beach and saw signs for an open house, and decided to follow them and go through the house.
Built in 1951, this amazing house can be yours for just under a million 'cause it's been reduced!
It's quaint and lovely, but small and the kitchen had ancient appliances!
BUT, there was a view of the ocean from almost every window! super!

There's the ocean from in front of the house!
We decided not to buy it, though. Not today, anyway.

Hey! Can you guess where we are here?!
Happy, happy people everywhere and "No on Prop 8" stickers..... hmmmmmm.
Any guesses?
We drove through Castro to get to Pier 39!
:)

We passed a warehouse with old cars!
Had to take this one for Nat.

The Streets of San Francisco!
Roller coaster ride...

Um, hello! YUMMY Ghirardelli sundaes!
Heavenly!

Passed a cool magician street performer guy!

Pier 39 sea lions.... adorable!

After several hours of Pier 39, we headed to the CBS Building where LIVE 105 is to see my brother. Just a few blocks up from Pier 39 area...

Aaron does a show Sunday nights (right now!) and we got to see him in action for a bit.
He gave us a tour of the station and we met his producer and other people. Way cool!

Monday:
Gene had to work most of Monday, too, so I headed out to Brentwood to see my dear friend Jill.
Her daughter took this of us and since my camera is soooo lame, this is how it turned out!
It was fun visiting with her, it had been a few years. We've known each other since 6th/7th grades!
Then Gene and I flew back that evening! Our girls did great without us, missed us, but were alright.
It was a fun weekend!!

It looks like you've had an awesome get away too! I don't know where the hospital is in Payson. But I passed a skate park and a school to get to her mom's house. Maybe you know about where she lives now!? It would be great to get out of Clearlake, but I think Utah would be too far away from our families! I don't know how you can stand to be so far from yours! I guess blogging helps a lot though huh!?
